In the early 1920s, a French microbiologist named Henri Boulard was travelling through Indo China (modern day Vietnam) when he noticed something unusual during a cholera outbreak. Local villagers, desperate to manage the severe diarrhoea caused by the infection, weren’t reaching for medicines, they were turning to fruit skins.
Boulard observed that people chewed the rinds of lychee and mangosteen, or brewed them into teas, to help ease their symptoms.
Intrigued, he set out to discover why these fruits might offer relief. Through careful isolation work, he identified a unique, living microorganism hiding on the fruit skins: a special strain of yeast.
Unlike ordinary baker’s yeast, this strain could survive stomach acid and bile, passing safely into the intestines where it helped restore balance during digestive upset.
Recognising its potential, Boulard patented the yeast in 1923.
Scientists later named it in his honour: Saccharomyces boulardii.
And I have been using it for 15 years and always keep a bottle in the cupboard.
I talked about that here when Floyd got ill in 2019, when he was only 4 years old

It works by helping remove pathogens (bad bugs) and thus stop and reduces diarrhoea.
And that is for travelling abroad, or when you get ill at home.

“Of 31 randomized, placebo-controlled treatment arms in 27 trials (encompassing 5029 study patients), S. boulardii was found to be significantly efficacious and safe in 84% of those treatment arms.
A meta-analysis found a significant therapeutic efficacy for S. boulardii in the prevention of antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD). In adults, S. boulardii can be strongly recommended for the prevention of AAD and the traveler’s diarrhea.”
Or if you are on antibiotics, because it is a YEAST and not affected by antibiotics:

“Administration of S. boulardii compared with placebo or no treatment reduced the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea (as defined by the study investigators) in patients treated with antibiotics from 18.7% to 8.5%“
And, of course, if you have gut issues, then the very same mechanism help to reduce IBS, bloating/gas.

And it is also very effective against Candida/fungal infections

Basically, it is an awesome thing for your gut microbiome.
And so, we now have BIOME RESCUE, added to our range of supplements, to compliment the GUT HERO BUTYRATE and Everyday BIOTICS.

Featuring the patented, form CNCM I-3799.

Trade price works out at £16.20 when you buy a case of 6, and RRP is £20.50 or whatever you want.
And it is not a solo product, is also has in it a patented SPORE FORMING bacteria, Bacillus Subtilis CNCM I-2745 or BSCU1 to his friends.

We will talk about this amazing bacteria another time, but it is awesome at calming down the IMMUNE SYSTEM aka reducing inflammation.
